At PCC we do everything to insure our employees enjoy a comprehensive benefits package which meets a wide variety of needs. Our Employee Benefits Program is periodically evaluated as social and economic conditions change so that we will continue to provide our employees with a well rounded program. Following is a brief summary of our benefits. Specific details are outlined in each plan booklet.

YOUR HEALTH

Health Insurance

PCC's health insurance plan is available to employees working at least 25 hours per week. With the health insurance there is a copayment schedule for services and prescription coverage ($8 generic and $14 brand). Coverage begins on date of hire, with no premium the first month of coverage if date of hire is after the 15th of the month. PCC pays 100% of the premium for single participants and 50% for all other participant levels.

Dental Insurance

PCC offers two dental plans: Voluntary Dental PPO and Traditional Preferred Plan, to employees working at least 25 hours per week. The Traditional Preferred Plan has higher premiums, with no restrictions on a provider. With the higher premiums, the employee receives the same benefit coverage as an employee that selects an in-network dentist in the Voluntary Dental PPO plan. Effective date of coverage is date of hire, with a prorated first month premium. Employees pay 100% of the premium.

Premium Only Plan

PCC offers the Premium Only Plan so employees can elect to exclude from taxable income the amount of compensation that is withheld from their pay for premium contributions to the health and dental insurance plans. Your new gross income is your income less the pre-tax contributions to the insurance plans. By deducting the premium contributions before calculating your Federal Income, State Income and Social Security taxes, your taxable income is lower and your taxes are lower.

COBRA

As an employer sponsoring group health plans, PCC offers employees and their families the opportunity for a temporary extension of health coverage (called "continuation coverage") at group rates in certain instances where coverage under the plans would otherwise end. This coverage applies to employees that are eligible for PCC's health and dental insurance only. If continuation coverage is elected, the employee pays 100% of the premium, plus a 2% service charge.

 

YOUR PROTECTION

Life and Accidental Death and Dismemberment Insurance

PCC provides a $25,000 Life and AD&D for each employee working at least 40 hours per week. Coverage is effective 2 weeks following date of hire.

Long-term Disability

PCC's long-term disability coverage is available to employees working at least 30 hours per week. Coverage is effective the first day of the month following date of hire. Monthly benefits are available in units of $100 up to 60% of their basic monthly earnings, in amounts from $500 to $5,000. If you qualify for long-term disability, there is a 3-month qualifying period before benefits are received. Premiums are paid by the employee and vary depending on age and amount of monthly benefit option.

 

YOUR MONEY

Retirement Plan - 401(k)

Employees are eligible to participate in the 401(k) plan immediately. Each employee is entitled to withhold up to 15% per pay with annual maximum contributions up to $10,000 in 1999, including any prior employment contributions for the year. There is a one-time set-up fee of $25.00, which is deducted from your first payroll. PCC does not currently, nor does it plan in the near future to, match any employee contributions.

Direct Deposit

All payroll is done through direct deposit and is effective with the first pay period. Payroll is done on a bi-weekly basis at which time employees receive a direct deposit advice to confirm proper deposit.
